Lot 06: Attend a Space Shuttle Launch Attempt with STS-1 Pilot Bob Crippen
The ground will vibrate under your feet and the sensation will engulf you as you witness firsthand a Space Shuttle launch with the pilot of the first Space Shuttle mission, Robert Crippen.
You and a guest will travel to Kennedy Space Center where you will be treated to lavish food at a VIP reception and then whisked off to prepare for NASA's launch countdown! As a four-time shuttle veteran, Crippen will share his personal memories of lifting off the launch pad and flying into orbit as the next crew prepares to follow in his footsteps. With only a handful of space shuttle launches to go before this vehicle is retired, this truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
You, your guest and Capt. Crippen will witness the launch attempt from a NASA-controlled location. Transportation to the viewing area will be provided by Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Accommodations and transportation to and from Florida and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is not included. The actual date of the event will be determined by Capt. Crippen's schedule, as well as NASA's launch schedule. This lot does not guarantee viewing a shuttle launch and includes only one launch attempt.
