Lot 09: Cessna Flight for Two to Breakfast and Golf with Shuttle Astronaut John Blaha as Your Pilot!
The winner of this lot and his/her guest will meet shuttle astronaut John Blaha in San Antonio, Texas, where together you will board his Cessna 172 Skyhawk for a flight, piloted by the five-mission veterna himself, to a Texas Hill Country breakfast.
You'll then spend the afternoon playing 18 holes of golf at the serene River Crossing Club where you'll have time to ask about his spaceflight experiences and see if his golf game is as good as his piloting skills.
Col. Blaha flew five times to space; four times as pilot or commander of the shuttle. He also lived aboard the Russian space station Mir for four months. In total, he logged 161 days in space and has more than 7,000 hours of flying time in 34 different aircraft.
Transportation to and from this experience is not included other than as is provided in the auction description. The actual date of the experience, not to exceed one year after the close of the auction, will be determined by the above astronaut's schedule. ASF reserves the right to disqualify the high bidder, to reject the high bid, and to accept a bid from a lower bidder, for any reason within their discretion, which shall be exercised in good faith. The winning bidder of this experience may be required to submit proof of identity and be subject to a background check. Hold harmless agreement required.
