Lot 27: Apollo 13 Beta Cloth Patch FLOWN to the Moon by James Lovell

Apollo 13 commander James Lovell has certified that this mission insignia was flown on-board the flight's Command Module Odyssey during its perilous trip around the Moon, April 11-17, 1970. It was carried in his Personal Preference Kit (PPK).

The insignia was printed on fire proof Beta cloth-glass fibers coated with Teflon. This is the same material that was used as the outer layer of his spacesuit.

The patch is presented with a circular-cut matt, suitable for framing. Lovell has inscribed the matt and affixed a signed statement of authenticity to its reverse.
