Lot 29: FLOWN Apollo 11 Thermal Protection Insulation
This thermal protection insulation flew to the Moon as part of Apollo 11's Command Module #107 "Columbia" which carried the crew of the first manned lunar landing mission from July 16-24, 1969.
This pressure-sensitive Kapton polymide tape was part of the spacecraft's thermal protection subsystem and was removed from the heat shield after splashdown.
The Kapton tape is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and has been matted and framed with archival materials.
