Lot 20: Autographed Saturn V Flight Manual

Donated from the personal collection of Astronaut Paul Weitz is a Saturn V Flight Manual dated January 1, 1971. The manual is for vehicle SA-509, the Apollo 14 mission, and is a revision to the August 15, 1969 baseline manual, MSFC-MAN-507.

This document details the performance, emergency detection and procedures, stages, and instruments around the Saturn V rocket and was used by all organizations involved in the flight -- crew, training, flight controllers, CapComs, PAOs, etc.

The Apollo 14 crew, Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell, launched from Kennedy Space Center less than a month after the manual was revised. Mitchell and Weitz have inscribed this manual and it is accompanied by a COA from Weitz.
