The 2009 U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction Gala and Ceremony recognized the eighth class of astronaut recruits at the Kennedy Space Center on May 1-2, 2009. Joining the ranks of legendary space pioneers were inductees George "Pinky" Nelson, William Shepherd, and James Wetherbee. With over 500 guests in attendance, the gala raised an astounding $150,000 for the Foundation!
