Lot 13: Personalized "Earthrise" Print by Bill Anders
Apollo 8 Astronaut, Bill Anders, will sign and personalize a stunning 16" x 18" Earthrise canvas print for the winning bidder of this lot. This image of the Earth above the Moon was captured by Anders on his mission and became one of the most widely printed photos in all of history. Life Magazine named this picture one of its "Top 100 Photographs of the Century".
As a retired astronaut, Anders is known for his "no signing" policy, as he rarely signs memorabilia. This piece is a true keepsake and will become an instant heirloom to whoever is fortunate enough to win this lot.
The Apollo 8 crew, Frank Borman, James Lovell and Anders were the first humans to witness an Earthrise, which is only visible when orbiting the Moon.
