Lot 25: Skylab I Crew Signed Cachet
This Skylab I cachet was signed by the crew, Charles Conrad Jr., Joseph P. Kerwin, and Paul J. Weitz, and is from the personal collection of Weitz, who piloted the mission. This cover is handsomely decorated with a silver foil on color picture of a tethered astronaut performing an Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA). This mission was the first manned mission to Skylab, and at the time, established a record for human spaceflight duration at 28 days.
The cover measures 6.5" x 3.5" and is postmarked Cape Canaveral, Florida, May 14, 1974. A Certificate of Authenticity from Weitz accompanies the piece.
