Lot 04: Assortment of Original Apollo Badges
This assortment of vintage Apollo mission clearance badges were officially issued by NASA for access to the launch viewing site at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The collection includes launch badges from Apollo 6 (unmanned), Apollo 7, Apollo 10, Apollo 12, Apollo 13, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16, Apollo 17 and a bonus Apollo 17 rollout-ceremony badge.
Each badge is laminated and unique. Some of the badges boast the mission insignia on the front cover, while others display the NASA "meatball" logo. On the reverse, the badges display individual NASA serial numbers; six are also stamped with the signature of the first Kennedy Space Center Director, Kurt Debus. The remaining four badges are stamped with the signature of Chief Security Officer Charles Buckley, Jr. A total of ten badges make up this lot, with each badge measuring approximately 4" x 2.5" in size.
