Lot 06: Thomas Stafford Signed June 1969 LIFE Magazine
This June 1969 LIFE magazine titled "Barnstorming the Moon", features an impressive 14 page photo spread of images captured by the Apollo 10 Command Module, Charlie Brown, and includes a short description of the Apollo 10 mission. Accompanying the illustrations are quotes taken from Astronaut crewmembers Thomas Stafford and Eugene Cernan during their time in the Lunar Module, Snoopy.
The vintage magazine is in good condition, boasting an authentic signature of Stafford, who inscribed "Tom Stafford, Apollo X" on the front cover.
The Apollo 10 mission served as a dress rehearsal for the future moon landing. The mission brought Astronauts Stafford and Cernan within 9 miles of the moon's surface while their Astronaut crewmember John Young orbited the moon alone in the Command Module.
The magazine is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity with pictures of Thomas Stafford signing the magazine certified by Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Executive Director Linn LeBlanc.
