Lot 10: Apollo 14 FLOWN American Flag

Lot 10: Apollo 14 FLOWN American Flag

This 6" x 4" American flag was carried to the moon onboard Apollo 14 which launched from the Kennedy Space Center on January 31, 1971. It comes from the personal collection of Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot, Edgar Mitchell, who has hand signed and inscribed this museum quality artifact with "Flown on Kittyhawk, Apollo 14 Lunar Mission Edgar Mitchell."

Astronaut certified lunar artifacts are considered the most desirable of all flown items and to that end, Edgar Mitchell will provide a iron clad provenance in the form of a hand signed, personalized certificate of authenticity, detailing the flag's lunar journey.

The flag is matted and framed with archival methods and includes an autographed print of Mitchell on the Moon next to an American flag.
