Lot 24: STS-6 Crew Complete Cachet

From the personal collection of STS-6 Space Shuttle Commander Paul Weitz, this cachet is signed by Weitz and STS-6 crewmembers, Pilot Karol Bobko and Mission Specialists Donald Peterson and Story Musgrave.

The cachet is postmarked April 4, 1983 from Kennedy Space Center, FL to signify the inaugural launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger on the STS-6 mission. STS-6 was also the first space shuttle program mission to include a spacewalk.

The cachet boasts the crew mission patch and illustrational head shots of each Astronaut crewmember, along with a picture of a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite that was launched during the mission to replace most of NASA's tracking stations.

On the reverse, an inscription written by Weitz reads "From my personal collection". The cachet is approximately 3.5" x 6.5" in size and it is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Weitz.
