To top off the successful Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction weekend, the OMEGA/Swatch Group generously donated a Mens' Speedmaster watch and a Ladies' Constellation watch to be raffled off at the gala on June 4 to benefit the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF).

Raffle tickets were sold online prior to the event as well as at the gala that evening. Apollo astronaut Walt Cunningham and Space Shuttle astronaut Hoot Gibson joined Apollo astronaut and ASF Chairman Al Worden on stage to choose the lucky winners.

Hoot took center stage to choose the Ladies' watch winner — Debi Cairns. Cairns waved from the audience and excitedly made her way to the stage to claim her prize. The group paused for a few quick photos with Cairns as she proudly displayed her watch.

After a quick shake of the second raffle box, Cunningham revealed the winner of the Gent's watch — Jeffrey Bang! When no response was heard from Bang in the audience, Cunningham telephoned him from the stage and a conversation of "No I'm not kidding" and "Yes I'm serious" left the audience in an uproar.

All and all, the raffle raised $11,390 for the scholarship program.

Congratulations to Debi Cairns and Jeffrey Bang and thanks to all those who purchased raffle tickets and especially to Omega/Swatch Group for donating the spectacular watches again this year.
