Astronaut Show Promises Out-Of-This-World Vacation
Kennedy Space Center, FL — With its brilliant beaches, tropical temperatures and rocket launching legacy drawing more than 30 veteran astronauts back to their familiar stomping ground this November, Florida's Space Coast is the place to be. For the third consecutive year, the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) will hold the world's largest Astronaut Autograph and Memorabilia Show at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, November 6 – 7, 2010. Tickets are available online now at www.AstronautScholarship.org/aams/.
Nowhere else on Earth will sun, surf and space entertain such legendary heroes as Mercury 7 astronaut Scott Carpenter, Gemini and Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell and Apollo 16 moonwalker Charlie Duke. These celebrity astronauts and many others will greet guests at launch headquarters for an exhilarating weekend jam-packed with autograph sessions, astronaut photo opportunities, discussions led by legends, special dinners, space simulator rides, a unique space auction and much more.
"You don't have to be an autograph collector to take home the ultimate space experience during our autograph show weekend," said ASF Executive Director Linn LeBlanc. "Spending time with these American heroes is an amazing opportunity; one which show-goers will be able to cherish for the rest of their lives."
Guests may bring their own items to be signed or purchase items at the show. An Exhibitor Hall will also provide guests with access to some of the latest and prized space memorabilia from some of the most elite dealers in the industry. Tickets range from $15 to $550 and are now available for purchase online at www.AstronautScholarship.org or by calling 321-455-7014. Astronaut autographs are at an additional fee.
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization established in 1984 by the six surviving members of America's original Mercury astronauts. Its mission is to aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in science and technology by providing scholarships for college students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in these fields. ASF has awarded more than $3 million to deserving students nationwide. Today, more than 80 astronauts from the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Space Shuttle and Space Station Programs have joined in this educational endeavor.
