2011 U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction
The 2011 U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction weekend was an astronomical success! The Gala and Ceremony, held May 6-7, 2011 at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), recognized the tenth class of space shuttle astronauts to join the ranks. Inductees Karol “Bo” Bobko and Susan Helms were honored at the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation’s (ASF) Gala on Friday evening, where hundreds of guests gathered to pay homage to the distinguished honorees, their legendary predecessors and to raise vital funds for the ASF. Dozens of astronauts graced the red carpet at this black-tie soirée in support of the new inductees. The following day, a ceremony was held by KSCVC to officially induct the new class into the elite group of space legends who make up the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
