Historic Cape Tour
Historic Cape Tour with Astronauts Scott Carpenter and Richard Gordon

Travel back in time with original Mercury 7 astronaut Scott Carpenter and Gemini XI astronaut Richard Gordon on an exclusive tour of the historic Mercury and Gemini launch complexes at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, where these two pioneers blasted off into space.
On Friday, November 4, 2011, Platinum Plus ticket holders will be transported via a private KSC bus from the hotel directly into restricted areas of Cape Canaveral, including Launch Complex 14, where Carpenter's Aurora 7 was launched into space; Launch Pad 19, where Gordon's record setting Gemini XI lifted off, as well as Launch Pad 34 the site of the tragic Apollo 1 fire.

You will also get an up-close-and-personal look inside the rarely seen Blockhouse 5/6, the launch control building that sent the Mercury astronauts into space, and Hanger S, the crew quarters where Carpenter and his fellow Mercury 7 astronauts lived and trained. Enter the Air Force Space & Missile Museum where the Gemini white room has been partially restored and is on display. You'll be mesmerized on this one-of-a-kind journey through the Cape as Carpenter & Gordon fondly recall the early program days that started it all!
This nostalgic tour will be one for your own history book!
The Historic Cape Tour with Astronaut Scott Carpenter and Richard Gordon is only offered in the Platinum Plus ticket package and will conclude at the Debus Conference Facility for the Celebrating the Space Shuttle Program Lunch.
