Lot 1: Grand Cayman SCUBA/Snorkel Voyage with Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin

Welcome to your island paradise! Pack your bags and head down to the island of Grand Cayman for a two-day SCUBA diving and jet-ski adventure with Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin! This Astronaut Experience is planned for April 22-23, 2013, in accordance with Aldrin's schedule.

First, you and a guest will suit up and take a two-tank dive or a casual snorkel with Aldrin off a private boat provided by Divetech. As you descend into the deep, you and your dive buddy will experience some of the same sensations that Aldrin did 44 years ago when he stepped onto the surface of the Moon! The waters are swimming with exotic marine life including stingrays, sea turtles, tarpon, angelfish, and beautiful corals. You'll also get to see the Naval vessel, Kittiwake, which recovered Space Shuttle Challenger's black box after the disaster in 1986.

After a day of diving, you will join Aldrin for a delicious dinner, during which you can discuss the day's discoveries and Aldrin's historic moonwalk. At the evening's end, you will retire to your hotel for a good night's sleep. One night hotel accommodations are provided by the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.

The next day, your adventure with Aldrin continues as you put on your wetsuit once again, this time for a Waverunner Snorkel Safari provided by Red Sail Sports. This excursion will take you back into the water for some thrilling wave-riding and peaceful underwater exploration as you snorkel the crystal blue waters of the Caymans.

One of only 12 men to walk on the Moon, Aldrin is most famous for serving as Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot and being the second man to set foot on the surface of the Moon on July 20, 1969. He also served as pilot of the Gemini 12 mission in 1966.

Auction lot does not include SCUBA certification. One night accommodation included. Transportation to and from the experience is not included. This Astronaut Experience is planned for April 22-23, 2013, in accordance with Aldrin's schedule.
