Lot 10: Tereshkova and Bykovsky Cosmonaut Autographed Photos

This lot includes two 8 x 10" signed cosmonaut prints, one in color and one in black and white, bearing the signatures of Valentina Tereshkova and Valery Bykovsky respectively, penned in blue sharpie. Both have signed their names using the Russian Cyrillic alphabet.

Tereshkova became the first woman in space on June 16, 1963, when she successfully launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard the Soviet Union's Vostok 6. She has inscribed "Vostok-6" beneath her signature on this print.

Bykovsky set the record for the longest solo spaceflight when he spent five days in orbit aboard Vostok 5, which launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on June 14, 1963. He later went on to command the Soviet Union's Soyuz 22 in 1976 and the Soyuz 31 in 1978.

This lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Executive Director Linn LeBlanc, who witnessed the signing.
