Lot 30: Stafford and Brand Signed Apollo/Soyuz Lithograph

The owner of this full-color lithograph will have a daily reminder of what the Soyuz spacecraft looked like from the window of the Apollo Command Module through the eyes of Commander Tom Stafford, who took the original photo. The NASA-produced lithograph is signed by astronauts Stafford and Command Module Pilot Vance Brand.

According to the photo description on the reverse side of the lithograph, the photo depicts the Soviet Soyuz 19 floating approximately 35 meters from the USA Apollo spacecraft, "while heavy clouds cover the Earth below in the area of northeast South America." The description also identifies the protrusion at the top of the photo as an Apollo radio antenna.

The Apollo Soyuz Test Project mission of July 15-24, 1975 was the first join U.S.-Soviet space flight and the last flight of an Apollo spacecraft.

This lithograph comes with a mission patch and is framed and mounted using archival methods. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's Executive Director, Linn LeBlanc.
