Lot 31: Apollo Astronaut Multi-Signed Lunar Globe

Destined to become the standout piece in its new owner's space collection, this fascinating Moon globe has been signed and inscribed by ten Apollo mission astronauts as a tribute to the Apollo program. Inscriptions on the globe are as follows:

• Gerry Griffin, Flight Director
• Vance Brand, Apollo-15 BU CMP
• James Lovell, Apollo 8, 13, Mt. Marilyn
• Charlie Duke, Apollo 16 LMP
• Joe Allen, Apollo 15 CAPCOM
• Dave Scott, Apollo 15 CDR
• Al Worden, Apollo 15
• Alan Bean, Apollo 12 LMP
• Richard Gordon, Apollo 12 CMP, Apollo 15 BU CDR

The Moon globe, which is approximately 12 inches in diameter, accurately depicts the geographical features of the lunar surface - including craters, seas and mountains ranges, all of which are labeled. It also designates the first American and Russian unmanned landing sites, as well as the Apollo lunar landing site in the Sea of Tranquility. The globe is NASA-approved.

The sphere comes with a clear, acrylic base and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Executive Director Linn LeBlanc.

ASF reserves the right to disqualify the high bidder, to reject the high bid, and to accept a bid from a lower bidder, for any reason within their discretion, which shall be exercised in good faith.
