Peter W. (Pete) Cramer is the founder and managing partner of the Pc Advisory Group

Cramer began his career with Gulf Oil as a geophysicist working on seismic acquisition and processing projects world wide including the first offshore 3-D seismic survey in Angola. Following a brief stint with Geosource, he joined Shell Oil in 1987, as a geophysicist and seismic crew party chief responsible for data acquisition and processing activities in the U.S. gulf coast region. In 1991 Cramer transferred to Shell’s offshore division (Gulf of Mexico) where he held positions in deep water exploration and shelf production. In 1996, he joined British-Borneo Exploration (Gulf of Mexico), completing two field development projects with the first use of mini-Tension Leg Platforms and establishing a successful exploration program. Cramer joined Phillips Petroleum in 2000 as exploration manager, Gulf of Mexico, holding that position through the formation of ConocoPhillips in 2002 until 2005 when he became global manager of seismic technology. In 2008 Cramer was named global exploration planning & portfolio manager and in 2011 he was named US onshore exploration manager. Finally, in 2016 he was named global exploration new ventures manager holding this position until his retirement in 2018 prior to joining Devon Energy where he was vice president of Exploration & Reservoir Technology. In 2019 he founded the Pc Advisory Group to provide consulting and advisory services to the upstream E&P sector. Cramer has also served on the boards of Jones Energy, Black Mountain Energy, Ltd., and SAExploration as well as the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) where he was treasurer.

Cramer earned his bachelor’s degree in physics/geophysics from Rice University in 1981.
