As the Mercury astronauts aged, they recruited the next generation of astronauts, Apollo, to pick up the mantle. I am honored to have played a part in carrying on the legacy they started. The Apollo astronauts didn’t carry this alone; every person who attended an Astronaut Scholarship Foundation event, purchased autographs, bid in the auctions and made donations is a part of this legacy. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has been such a meaningful part of my journey in STEM. Through events like Innovators, Hall of Fame and Astronaut Meet & Greets, the ASF has provided me with incredible opportunities to build a strong community with my peers and mentors. Knowing that astronauts like Charlie Duke believe in my potential as a researcher fills me with pride, gratitude and confidence in my future. I truly cannot imagine my early STEM career without the encouragement and support from the ASF Family!
