LIVE CHAT WITH A VETERAN ASTRONAUT
Meeting a veteran astronaut can be a life changing experience for children and adults alike. The advances in technology, along with your participation, allows the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) to bring this opportunity to thousands of STEM enthusiasts across the world. STEM enthusiasts will have the opportunity to join this intimate session via a virtual room with a limited number of participants. You will interact directly with a host and astronaut as they share their personal experiences.

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is excited to present an exclusive Live Chat with veteran NASA Astronaut John Herrington on Thursday, November 6th at 1:00 p.m. ET for all students in all grades and their educators/parents/guardians. During the Live Chat, John will share his stories with your children and/or students, inspiring them to dream big and explore the unknown. Your children and/or students will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with a real-life astronaut, which will undoubtedly spark their curiosity about STEM fields beyond just aerospace. 2024 and 2025 Astronaut Scholar Julia Fancher will be moderator for the Live Chat as well.

A link to this virtual event will be sent to the email address used at registration closer to the event date. If you are an educator registering your entire classroom, please include the number of students joining via one screen and the name you’d like to appear on the completion certificate. Inspiring The Next Generation
In 2023, ASF expanded its “Live Chat with an Astronaut” to offer a virtual Live Chat series in honor of one of the original Mercury 7 Astronauts and a founding member of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, Scott Carpenter. This series aims to inspire students from all grade levels and highlight the variety of STEM careers they can pursue.
• On July 19, 2024, NASA Astronaut Hoot Gibson shared his story in honor of Founder’s Day to 120 students across the U.S.
• NASA Astronaut, Mike Fossum shared his incredible career journey with 119 middle and high school students on August 7, 2024.
• Susan Kilrain, NASA Astronaut, inspired 267 students with her story and her book, “An Unlikely Astronaut” on September 18, 2024.
